Why are men emotionally constipated??

by spacepenguin @ 2007-04-18 - 11:42:58

My "significant other" has been in a bad mood for 4 days now. Why?? I'm not sure because as always he doesn't want to talk about it. On good days he can be such a nice person and I love spending time with him. When he is in a bad mood, he criticises me for everything and anything and generally puts me down. For example: yesterday I was trying to passify him by making him a cup of coffee and he told me I was "being too helpful". Then this morning the way I was sitting was "depressing him". Needless to say, when he is like this I withdraw from him emotionally and physically and when I try to stay out of his way he says I'm in a bad mood and am never affectionate with him. Whats that all about??

I bloody hate Doctors!!! (especially their Receptionists)

by spacepenguin @ 2007-04-17 - 17:08:30

Today has been "one of those days". Firstly, my daughter feinged illness this morning. If you are a parent you will probably know that whenever a child pretends to be ill, shortly afterwards they actually do become ill. Low and behold she did. Syptoms: Temperature of 38.3, aching neck and headache (also symptoms of Meningitis - every parents nightmare!!). So, being the neurotic mother that I am I called the Doctors surgery for an appointment only to be told that there "wasn't much they could do". Well, heeeelllloooooo!! If a Doctor can't do anything, who can??? Please bear in mind that this is the same Dr who told me I had a hormone imbalance and I would never become pregnant without a course of hormone injections. I subsequently came off the pill thinking I didn't need it and guess what?? .............. I got pregnant. My Dad went to see the same Dr because he had a swollen foot and having looked at it for while the Dr said "Well, how strange - perhaps it will go away". Unbelievable. You couldn't make it up!!!

I have just got back from my daily trip to Tesco Metro ( i know, I know, I do try not to go to tesco as they are taking over the world, but give me a break it is a "convenience store" after all and my daughter still not feeling great, so couldn't be arsed going anywhere else). Aaaaanyway, my daughter ran ahead to choose an Icecream. When I caught up with her she was chatting away to one of the male staff who happens to be asian. As he wondered off with a friendly smile on his face my daughter turned to me and said quite loudly "I like that man with the chocolate face, he always smiles at me". In that split second a lady walked past and tutted, muttered something about "whats the world coming to when children so young are being rascist". I would just like to point out to that lady that my 3 year old daughter is not a rascist and is not capable of being so. She was making an innocent comment. Is it me or has the world gone mad?? Surely, it's the tutting lady who is being rascist and not my daughter.
